Description of Engineering Plastic Profiles

ACRYLIC Made from toughened DR-101 resin for repairing taillight lenses, bathroom ware and display units.
ABS / AES Alloy found in Camry radiator grilles.
ABS / PA Alloy of ABS & Nylon - found in motorcycle fairings.
ABS / PC Alloy of ABS & Polycarbonate - found in some Nissan wheel trims and radiator grilles and Holden grilles.
ABS / PBT Alloy of ABS and Polybutylene Tetrathalate, Found in later motorcycle fairings.
ABS / PET Alloy of ABS & Polyethylene Tetrathalate, also found in later motorcycle farings.
ABS / PPE Alloy of ABS & Polyphenylene Ether found in car, truck and bike parts.
AES High Impact Styrenic resin with superior weatherability to ABS.
ASA (Luran-s) - Another styrenic resin with superior weatherability found in some Ford Australia trim.
C-PVC Chlorinated PVC for high temperature applications
HMWPE High Molecular Weight Polyethylene which will repair both HMWPE and U-HMWPE sheet - Welding temperatures need to be very high and air flow a minimum to minimise distortion.
U-HMWPE Similar characteristics to above but with superior mechanical properties and significantly more expensive.
PA6 An impact modified Type 6 Nylon and with very good welding properties.
PA66HS Heat Stabilised black Type 66 Nylon. Highest stiffness and temperature resistance of unreinforced nylons.
PA / PPE Alloy of Nylon 6 and Polyphenylene Ether - Motorcycle farings, bumpers and static structural components - Nissan X Trail front guards and Renault.
PPE / PA-GTX Similar to above, products from Noryl GTX resin
PET-G Glycol Modified Polyethylene Tetrathalate.
PC Polycarbonate - Used in a variety of industry components requiring clarity impact or high temperature electrical properties.
PC / PBT (Xenoy) - An alloy of polycarbonate and Polybutylene Tetrathalate - PBT improves solvent resistance. Found in some Ford and General Motors Holden bumpers..
PC / PET Alloy of Polycarbonate with Polyethylene Tetrathalate - For repairing ride-on mower bodies and other housing. Available in charcoal, green, red and orange.
POM Acetal - A Crystalline Thermoplastic used in bearings, springs and structural components requiring resistance to cyclic loadings. Very acrid fumes when welding. Avoid breathing vapour.
PPO (Noryl) - Modified Polyphenylene Oxide. Found in spoilers, Toyota side kit panels and other components that require temperature resistance and electrical properties.
PPE Modified Polyphenylene Ether - Similar to 'Noryl' in car and bike parts.
PP/EPDM Rubber Modified Polypropylene - widely in bumpers by major car makers.
TPR A specific grade of rubber modified Polypropylene used in General Motors Holden bumpers.
TPO Polypropylene modified with low molecular weight Polyethylene. May repair parts labelled PP/PE, TPE.
TPUR Thermoplastic Polyurethane - Will repair PUR bumpers provided they are injection moulded, not reaction injection moulded (RIM), which becomes an unweldable thermoset.
